Safety and handling

This section contains information about safety, handling and operating conditions. Keep this booklet for future use. If you are a professional installer, this booklet should be given to the householder.

Hazard warnings

  • Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage to the device or other property.
  • Your device is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it because they could hurt themselves and others, or damage the device. Keep the device and all its accessories out of the reach of small children.
  • Be aware that alarms and notifications can be missed if batteries run out.
  • This device should not be used as the only means of security in life threatening situations.
  • This product is equipped with a USB cable for connecting to a desktop or notebook computer or to the charger. Be sure your computer is properly grounded before connecting your product to the computer, and that the outlet is installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
  • Do not use or store this device near any heat sources such as naked flames, radiators, ovens or other devices that produce heat.
  • Do not dismantle the device; there is a risk of electric shock. Tampering with or dismantling the device will void warranty.
  • This product is water and dust-resistant according to the IP67 Rating, which tests submersion in water at up to one meter for up to 30 minutes. It is not shockproof.
  • Protect the device from shocks during storage and transport.
  • Do not make any changes or modifications to this device. Use only original Bellman & Symfon accessories to avoid any electrical shock.

Information on product safety

  • Failure to follow these instructions could result in damage to the device and void the warranty.
  • Prevent the charger port and the small end of the charger cable from coming into contact with conductive materials, such as liquids, dust, metal powders, and pencil leads.
  • While charging, the device and the charger may become hot. This does not affect the device’s lifespan or performance and is in the device’s normal range of operation.
  • Don’t use excessive force or a metallic object on the touchscreen. It may damage the tempered glass surface and void the warranty.
  • Do not allow the touchscreen to come into contact with other electronic devices. Electrostatic discharges can cause the touch screen to malfunction.
  • Do not drop your device. Dropping onto a hard surface can damage it.
  • Do not insert foreign objects into the product.
  • Do not place the product in a microwave oven.
  • Do not use the device in areas where electronic equipment is prohibited.
  • The device may only be repaired by an authorized service center.
  • No company, enterprise or user is allowed to change the frequency, enhance the transmitting power or alter the original characteristics or performance on an approved low power radio frequency device.”
  • This device should not be used on aircrafts unless specifically permitted by flight personnel.

Using it with a pacemaker

Persons with pacemakers should:

  • ALWAYS keep the product more than six (6) inches from their pacemaker when the product is turned ON.
  • Not carry the product in a breast pocket.
  • Use the wrist opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for RF interference.
  • Turn the product OFF immediately if there is any indication that interference is taking place.
  • If you use any other personal medical device, consult your physician or the manufacturer of your device to determine if it is adequately shielded from external RF energy.

Battery warnings

  • Do not disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture or shred.
  • Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, immerse or expose to water or other liquids, expose to fire, explosion or other hazards.
  • Make sure that no sharp-edged items, such as animal’s teeth or nails, come into contact with the battery. This could cause a fire.
  • Only use the battery for the system for which it is specified.
  • Only use the battery with a charging system that has been qualified with the system per CTIA Certification Requirements for Battery System Compliance to Safety information 7IEEE1725. Use of an unqualified battery or charger may present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage, or other hazards.
  • Do not short circuit a battery or allow metallic conductive objects to contact battery terminals.
  • Do not attempt to replace the battery.
  • Battery usage by children should be supervised.
  • Avoid dropping the watch. If the watch is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and you suspect damage, take it to a service center for inspection.
  • Improper battery use may result in a fire, explosion, or other hazards.
  • Always unplug the charger from the wall socket after the product is fully charged to save unnecessary power consumption of the charger.
  • There is risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type.

Warning Notice for battery replacement

  • For your safety, do not remove the battery incorporated in the product. If you need to replace the battery, take it to the nearest authorized service center for assistance.
  • Li-Ion Battery is a hazardous component which can cause injury.
  • Battery replacement by non-qualified professional can cause damage to your device.

Notes on water resistancy

This product is water and dust resistant in compliance with the Ingress Protection rating IP67. Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance will decrease over time as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty, but you might have rights under consumer law. Do not use the product in the following environments:

Do not place the product directly on sand (such as at a beach) or mud.

  • Once the product gets wet, water may remain in gaps of the main unit. Shake the product well to drain water. Even after water is drained, the inner parts might be still wet. Although you can use the product, do not place it near things that must not get wet.
  • Do not use the product in places where it may be sprayed with high-pressure water (e.g. near a faucet or shower head) or submerge it in water for extended periods of time, as the product is not designed to withstand high water pressure.
  • This product is not resistant to shock. Dropping the product might damage or deform the unit causing water leak.

General guidelines

While using your product, be aware of the following common-sense guidelines:

  • Use and store your product in temperatures between 0° to 35° C, 32° to 95° F. Exposing your product to extremely low or high temperatures may result in damage, malfunction or even explosion.
  • Using a mobile device or accessory while driving may cause distraction. Please keep your eyes on the road.
  • Always follow any special regulations in a given area. Turn your device off in areas where use is forbidden or when it may cause interference or danger.
  • Always unplug the charger from the wall socket after the product is fully charged to save unnecessary power consumption of the charger.

Band tips and precautions

When you wear the watch for a long time, skin irritation may occur due to certain factors, such as friction, pressure, or moisture. If you have been wearing your watch for a long time, remove it from your wrist for a while to keep your skin healthy and allow your wrist to rest.

Skin irritation may occur due to an allergy, environment factors, other factors, or when your skin is exposed to soap or sweat for long periods. In this case, stop using your watch immediately and wait 2 or 3 days for the symptoms to ease. If the symptoms persist or worsen, call your doctor.

Make sure your skin is dry before wearing your watch. If you wear a wet watch for a long time, your skin may be affected.

Maintenance and warranty

This section contains information about maintenance, service and warranty conditions.

Cleaning

Wipe your Bellman Watch clean with a nonabrasive, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water. If your Bellman Watch has substances or debris visible in places such as the ports, you can hold your Bellman Watch under lightly running, warm, fresh water until it’s clean. This device does not require sterilization.

Service and support

If the device appears to be damaged or doesn’t function properly, follow the instructions in the user guide and this leaflet. If the product still doesn’t function as intended, contact an authorized service center for information on service and warranty.

Warranty conditions

Bellman & Symfon guarantees this product for two (2) years from date of purchase against any defects that are due to faulty materials or workmanship. This guarantee only applies to normal conditions of use and service, and does not include damage resulting from accident, neglect, misuse, unauthorized dismantling, or contamination howsoever caused. This guarantee excludes incidental and consequential damage. Furthermore, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary with territory. Some countries or jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer. The above warranty may not be altered except in writing signed by both parties hereto.

Correct disposal of this product

This product and its electronic accessories (e.g., charger and USB cable) should not be disposed of with other household waste.
