Hear the difference

Scraping chairs, echoes in a school corridor or the hum of a vacuum cleaner – with so much noise in our everyday life it’s no wonder that some of the words are lost. Domino will lower the noise so you can hear without effort.

A versatile listening system

Even with hearing aids, there are situations in life when it can be particularly difficult to distinguish speech. This is common in busy environments such as schools, work places and public areas like for instance shopping malls.

The Domino listening system from Bellman & Symfon will help you to hear better in these situations, where hearing aids alone may not always be enough. Domino brings out the words so you can hear them loud and clear – even at a distance. This means you can enjoy the company of colleagues and friends without effort.

How it works

Domino consists of a transmitter and a receiver.

1. The receiver captures speech close to you. Wear it around your neck or place it on the table in front of you.

2. The transmitter picks up speech from further away. Just place it across the table – or ask your colleague, schoolmate or teacher to wear it.

Hear without effort

Domino uses digital technology to enhance speech and filter out unwanted background noise before it reaches your hearing aid or cochlear implant. The clean and crisp sound makes it easier to hear the words above the noise. Click below to hear what it sounds like (requires Adobe Flash Player).

Hear the difference

Just point and listen

Both the receiver and the transmitter are equipped with a directional microphone. When you are in a particularly busy environment, you can just 'point' Domino to your company and the noise will disappear and the words will come out.

This is useful in for instance canteens, restaurants and terminals, where it would otherwise be very difficult to hear what is being said.

User cases

Conquer the conference room

Domino can assist you in many everyday situations, like for instance during meetings, on seminars, or even
when you catch a movie at home. Here you can see some examples of where Domino can help you to hear better.

At work

Put the transmitter and receiver on either side of the table to join the conversation.

In school

In restaurants

Use the directional microphones to hear the words above the background noise.

At home

Attach the transmitter to your spouse's shirt and hear the words loud and clear.

By the TV

Connect the transmitter to your TV, mobile phone or computer and listen at your own volume.

In the car

Clip the transmitter your travel companion's sleeve to filter out the traffic noise.

How Domino works

Using Domino with hearing aids

Domino clarifies speech and filters out disturbing background noise before it reaches
your hearing aid or cochlear implant. Here you can read more about how it works in practice.

1. On the table

The receiver captures the sound nearby, while the transmitter picks up the sound further away. The sound is then streamed to the receiver that enhances speech and reduces disturbing background noise.

2. Around the neck

The neck loop transmits the speech wirelessly to the hearing aid or cochlear implant's speech processor.

3. In the ear

The hearing aid or speech processor refines the sound further before it reaches the ear.

Life stories

Clear sound

Domino uses digital signal processing technology to deliver clear and distinct speech that is free from unwanted background noise. This means you don’t have to make so much of an effort to hear what people are saying, even in demanding environments like for instance terminals, restaurants or canteens.

Secure transmission

Domino uses state-of-the-art 128-bit digital encryption technology, like many Wi-Fi corporate networks of today. This means that you can use your Domino system even at confidential business meetings, without any risk of unauthorized eavesdropping.

Easy to use

Domino is very easy to use and you are up and running within minutes flat. Everything is accessible with the press of a button and there are no complicated menus to navigate. Just connect your neck loop or earphones and adjust the volume to your liking.
